Reef Dynamics Model 300-450 Acrylic Protein Skimmer/Refugium Sump.*

The last sump you will ever buy! These sumps are hand made from 3/8" thick cast acrylic sheet. Black sides and a clear front and rear which allows for easy viewing of skimmer and sump components while keeping algae growth to a minimum. The sump comes with a built in pre-filter chamber with holder for a filter sock as well as a lid to cover the chamber. This minimizes noise and splash which in turn controls salt creep and keeps things clean.

Specifically designed to work with our in sump skimmers at a slow flow through rate of 2-3 times the total system volume per hour.  For this system we recommend the EHEIM Compact Model 5000 pump.

The skimmer section is designed for an INS300, INS350/350E, or INS450 protein skimmer. There is a small chamber next to the pre-filter box that is not included in that footprint. The sump can handle between 600-1200 gph max flow through. The weir to the sump well is set at 6.75” for a constant water level of 7.0" that the INS350/350E requires.  With the weir adapter, the water level can be elevated to 8.75" for the INS300 and INS450 which requires a constant water level of 9”.

The refugium section is approximately 15" wide x 20" deep and 15" tall.  It holds +/-19 gallons of water. A pump providing up to 500 gph should be provided to supply the refugium.  We recommend the EHEIM Compact Model 2000 pump for this application.
